Island Hopping: Day three in Orkney

9 June 2017

Aloha all,

The one day of summer weather we had yesterday  disappeared and so our third day on Orkney was an"indoor" tour day.  We started the day with a distillery tour- whisky or scotch- tour.  Nice tour of the Scapa Distillery and I will admit the free glass of scotch warmed me up immensely as it was 40 degrees, wet, rainy and cold outside.

Yes It was very good.

While driving along to our next indoor stop, I HAD to stop and take a picture of woolly PIGS.  I didn't know about woolly pigs, but they do exist.  AND  they do have WOOL or at least woolly looking skin.

We decided the weather wasn't going to improve so we took an earlier ferry back towards Inverness.

Photos below are from Orkney:  The very very fresh fish food- crab claws and scallops, the lovely flowers, and the green.

The creatures:  Slugs and Snails are in Orkney, too.

Beaches --but the water looks a bit colder than home..... clear but cold

Thanks for letting me share.  I have one day with friends in Edinburgh and then I am off to Dublin, Ireland.

Stay tuned.

Aloha
