Hiking in Ireland: Day 8 on the Dingle Way

23 June 2017

Castlegregory to Camp:  6.3 miles or 17,321 Caroline steps

We woke up to grey and light rain this morning, and our distance would be just about 6 or 7 miles.  After the usual hearty breakfast, donned our raingear and departed.

 Off we went
We walked past dunes that bordered the beach, horses grazing in the grasses
An Old beach house.  The beach was just on the other side of the dunes
Back walking on the beach.  Evidence of OLD lava - pahoehoe kind - on the shore

And then the path took us up past an older church and graveyard
A donkey watching us climb the hill back to "Camp"- to complete our Dingle way walk.
And then there we were... back at Ashes pub for our celebratory hot whisky

We earned a fabulous dinner of lamb shank and splurged on vino.  Then the pub for one last round of cards.

This lamb shank was delicious!
A terrific keepsake - thanks to Kerri and Brian
 Terrific IRISH IPA!

And then living proof that the GIRLS RULE in Cribbage 13 to 5!

We are in Tralee, Ireland now, taking a day to regroup before we leave tomorrow for Killarney and the Kerry Way Hike.

More adventures to come.  ALOHA!
