Aloha from Cork Ireland!

I have arrived a day before my hiking pals- rearranging all my luggage, re packing the hiking backpack- getting set for the next part of the Island hopping adventure.

Cork is a HILLY town and the main part of town with many pedestrian only streets is on an island in the Lee River.  I had a great afternoon walking around Cork, seeing sights, and meeting up with one of my Colorado hiking friends, Kerri.

I found a FABULOUS FOOD MARKET.   I think the real reason to hike is TO EAT.  The foods in this market are glorious.

 Excellent and multi-colored cherry tomatoes
 Cheese market
Fruits-- the cherries and strawberries are so Sweet.

Freshest of fish, shrimp and mussels.

The display fish to bring in the customers or photographers like me.

FRESH TROUT!

IRISH SODA BREADS!!!

So.... to earn my supper I kept walking and starting seeing sights!  I did not know that Cork was the center of the butter market - the price of butter originated here... Like the stock market, the Corkl butter market set the price.... way back when.  Better buy some butter to try.

Interesting Brass street sign in the side walk.

St. Fin Barre's church.  I will go tomorrow.  Apparently the stain glass windows are lovely!

The old textile Market...

And the SMALLEST HOUSE in Cork... maybe the skinniest, too!

More updates to come.  Hope you are enjoying the read.

Aloha
