This blog is for all my friends that love trees and plants and greenery! It has been so long since I have seen sycamore trees, maple trees, plane trees, horse chestnut trees etc etc. I just had to take photos of them all.
And because I have learned to measure trees, I tried to figure out the diameters and heights and crown spreads of the trees, but these trees are so big, I just gave up and enjoyed the greenery and the scenery.
1. Trees in Syon Park- the London home of the Duke of Northumberland.
The tree below is commonly known as a Bald Cypress- if you zoom in on the roots, they grow up all along the base of the tree. A variety of this tree is known as a swamp cypress..... I can see why judging from the root structure near the water!
Tree below is a very very large horse chestnut tree!
Two photos below are London plane trees- the American version is a Sycamore! (American Plane tree). These trees can grow to almost `160 meters! HUGE.
Below are photos - one with the name- of. Pterocarya Fraxinifolia or Casusasian Wingnut tree. Mostly found in Eastern Europe. What I enjoyed was the green flower/bract that looked like a green Hawaiian lei!
The green lei/flower/bract of the wing nut tree!
Lovely trees by the stream at Syon Park.
Took the photo below because of the colors and contrast.
2. A Weeping Willow Tree in Regent's Park- London.
3. Trees at the National Botanical Garden in Dublin, Ireland.
The Weeping Atlas Cedar tree.
A very gnarly Eucalyptus tree trunk!
4. One last tree from the Blarney Castle gardens- A Lime tree - in Britain, A Linden tree in the US. The monster tree sits in the gardens near the Blarney Castle.
I thought it interesting to find so few trees on the Orkney Islands.- just lots of wide open fields.
I hope you enjoy the read and the photos. Will post a flower blog, too.
Aloha
